At Signs A La Carte, we are a family-owned sign company located in West Chester, PA. We do almost everything on site, when we are stuck with a project, we utilize outside help. In the beginning, we only did print and what came from it. This allowed us to make window and wall graphics, car wraps and lobby signs. Then we decided to develop the company by adding machines: a router and a laser cutter from the Laguna brand. This helped our company by offering customers more choice for interior and exterior signage.

 We realized that the painting system was up and coming. So, we invested in one from Matthews. As a result, we can manufacture and paint dimensional letters and logos more quickly than if we had to order them. Our router also allows engraving. We use this method often to make hanging signs and monument signs that are more sophisticated and look amazing.

Although we have been on top of our game, we still have room for improvement. Working less with paper and pencil, and having pieces of paper everywhere, computers are made to make our lives easier, we still need to know how to use the programs….. With time we have seen a massive improvement. We do not hesitate to say that we do not have the capacity to do certain projects at a given time. With our background, we were raised with the metric system. This means we add or remove zeros to move to the unit above or below, easy for us. The inch, feet, yard system divides them by 12 and 8. Practice makes perfect!

We are always working to improve our website, and focus on what we want to develop. Every week, we have a new blog, posted to our website. It is impressive because of the way it works well. When we post an article on a project  the following week we have requests about it. Having a blog feature on our website has given our customers a general idea of what we can do for them!

We are not afraid to ask for help when we need it. Sign projects require creativity and ingenuity. We opened the business following the Signworld method. We are not a franchise but we had training and developed relationships with the owners as well as the people who were in training with us and therefore we help each other. Being located in different states we have not developed the same fabricated all the kinds of signs that others may have done in the past. This means that we do not always have the answers when we have projects that are out of the ordinary, but it does mean we have a great group of professionals to ask.

We are here to advise customers, often they are not sure where to begin, but after discussing, we ask them for photos of where they want their sign located to understand their need. We show them projects we have done, it helps a lot and we all can have a real visualization of what the customer is looking for.

What most customers do not recognize is: you cannot print or make a sign with a logo that comes out of an image the size of a postage stamp. By increasing the size, the image is pixelated, and this becomes illegible; the drawing no longer has any shape.

What’s for 2024:

Continuing our improvements, and really developing what we can do best. This year, we want to develop interior signs, whether they are dimensional letters, logos, painted, not attached directly to the wall, or glued to an acrylic panel. These acrylic cuts to shape are also used on monuments. We have become experts in this field since we have the perfect tools and machines. We also want to continue printing, so that your vehicles are real traveling advertisements for your company. And as always we will continue to work on our website.
