Cedar wood, Plywood, Aluminum, HDU, MDO are used to fabricate Post and Panel Signs.
Styles of Post and Panel Signs Post and panel signs are available in a variety of styles and configurations, as well as a variety of price points depending on your budget. They can be personalized with decorative caps and poles and custom-shaped panels. While the most common material used for the poles in our area is wood, you can also have poles made from PVC or aluminum. If the customer doesn’t want paint on the post, we use cedar wood. It’s a natural moth repellent that’s also weather resistant. If the customer wants a post with a specific color, we’ll prime, sand, and paint the plywood. Between the pole, we install a face that’s usually made with three millimeter or six millimeter MAX-metal. This substrate is durable and works well in all types of weather. However, sometimes customers require higher-end materials for more permanent signs. In this case, we work on sandblasted wood that is more expensive, but will last for decades. Signs A La Carte can propose other substrates like high density urethane (HDU), plywood, and medium density overlay (MDO). Types of Sign Materials and Substrates HBU is insect- and rot-resistant. It’s also waterproof and unaffected by changing temperatures. Unlike cedar, HDU is readily available, stable, carves easily, and paints beautifully. It also looks just like wood when painted, only much lighter. Plywood is made with thin layers of wood, interspersed with layers of special paper. Since it’s not weather resistant, plywood will eventually rot after years of exposure. MDO is a cheaper solution. However, its lifespan is usually less than five years, and it deteriorates more quickly than other materials. Other Custom Solutions If you’re looking for a simple, yet decorative solution, or something a little fancier, we can carve the wood for long-term use. For temporary use, the most economic method is printing the graphics on high-performance vinyl and directly applying them on both sides of the substrate’s surface for maximum visibility. We can also create an appealing look by adding dimensional acrylic letters or logos to post and panel signs. Sometimes when a customer wants to change their sign, we inspect it and find that the poles aren’t damaged—they just need a good coat of paint. Even when poles are made with high-quality material, factors like weather and pollution can still deteriorate the sign. A coat of paint can work wonders. We Have Your Sign Needs Covered
