What kind of signs do you need to show that your shop is open? by Signs A La Carte - West Chester, PA-
During the pandemic period, whether we are in the red, yellow, or green zone, customers need to know if your business is open. A custom sign is a great idea to show if you are operating right now or when you will open your facility.
At Signs A La Carte, we work with you to make the right sign for you, whether you are a salon, a fitness center, a restaurant, or any other type of small business that deals with customers every day. To find the right sign for you, our team creates a sign custom with your brand, your name, your style and of course information the customer should know.
Just before we learned we had to close, Bernard Grogan, from Hill’s Quality Seafood asked us to do a banner for his business. He wants to attract customers passing by cars saying the store is open and they can take orders by phone. The delivery will be at the curbside. We sent him the proof of the banner, he accepted it, we printed and delivered in no time.
A few days later, he thanked us because the banner gave him new customers. We are very happy for him. To add to the good news, our company was accepted by the government to stay open under conditions. If he needs us for any kind of signs, he can come back, and that is what he did.
Following the rules of the government about the shutdown of the state, the essential living business could still operate, but in some cases, they need to have posters about the new employee rules. We printed the posters for our customers. They needed a new employee; we created yard signs for them to advertise. Hill’s Quality Seafood is a chain of 4 stores, 3 are in Delaware County and 1 in Chester County, their seafood is so fresh and delicious, especially their crab cakes. Do not hesitate to go and try.
Last week, he realized that he needed a sign to direct his customers to the parking lot when they came to get their seafood. We proposed to him, an A-frame with 2 posters.
Even after the covid-19 pandemic, they will be able to use the a-frame for another purpose. They will just have to change the poster. Something that Signs A La Carte can do easily.
You see, Signs A La Carte can make temporary signs to help little enterprises stay in business. We would like to mention we can do more signs than yard signs, posters, large banners and A-frame to advertise your company, such as flags or clings.
Many companies underestimate the importance of customized signage. Your business must stand out to be different from a competitor. Your business must have its own identity.
Here is what Bernard Grogan had to say about working with Signs A La Carte: “Working with Christian, Veronique, & Signs a la Carte was absolutely crucial to being able to communicate to the public that our small business was still open during the initial COVID-19 shutdown - we didn’t realize the full value of a banner until we started to see how many new customers we were getting. At first, we were just trying to stay open by serving some of our longtime customers, but our business actually grew and a big part of that is due to the service of Signs a la Carte. As we had to change our business operations on the fly, Signs a la Carte was there with everything we needed to make it work. When we needed to hire, we turned to Signs a la Carte instead of spending hundreds of dollars on an online job listing. We needed signs to help our customers understand our new system for pickup - we had the signs the very same day."
"From the start, working with Signs a la Carte has been wonderful. Incredibly quick turnaround, very reasonable prices, personable service, and quality products that they stand behind - they are exactly the kind of business we want to support and work with. And it’s not just a matter of simply wanting to support another small, local, family owned business....but you literally will not find better service or more fair prices elsewhere, especially from national chains or franchises.”
If you buy all your signage from companies that have ready-made templates, your personal style may not be reflected as you expect. It is very difficult to have an aesthetic consistent with this approach. But if your sign is just personalized for you, you can be sure that all your signage appropriately represents your brand. Call Signs A La Carte, we create custom signs for your open business.
Looking to start a new business... Don’t know where to begin? The first thing you need is signs to show who you are!
Signs A La Carte is able to do it all

Having an appealing image is something every business strives for; we are able to custom make or customize the signs you want in order to create the space you want.
Where does your new business begin?
Outside! To engage and bring in customers you need an outdoor sign or signs to attract them. An outdoor sign is a big purchase for any company or business. It is a highly visible statement you want by passers to see. There are many ways to make your unique sign stand out.
Dimensional Signs- adds an element of depth to a flat sign's height and width. The shape, shadows and shading of 3D letters, logos and graphics catch the eye like no two-dimensional flat sign can.
Light LED Signs- are signs comprised of light emitting diodes (LED's) that shine bright and allow you to draw customers into your place of business. These bright lights allow your messages to be seen at night and during the day with ease.
Monument sign- a low-profile freestanding sign, supported by a structural base or other solid structural features other than support poles and may contain signage on more than one side.
Flag Signs- Because all the signs described above require a permit from the township, you can indicate your presence by the flags….. A flag is a great way to attract by passes outside of your business. Tall standing signs are visible from further away enabling a larger audience.
Location is a key component when starting your business. You want as many people as possible to be able to see your business. Signs are the main way you will attract customers. Especially if you are near a busy road or highway, tall standing signs will stand out and make by passers notice you.
Once you have secured the customers inside the next step is indoor signs!
You may want the inside of your business to match the outside. Signs A La Carte is able to give you exactly what you need to create a space you love.
Choosing the type of indoor sign, you want is the next step into customizing your new space. No need to be bland when you could have an exciting space to be in.
Wall Graphics- can add a pop on your plain wall. Using a mission statement or a positive quote can create a welcoming space.
Window Graphics- inside a building, you may find different business, having your name and open hours on the entrance door can be a good idea.
Dimensional letters/ signs- are 3D letters made that are mounted individually to the wall. They can either be raised on clear spacers or mounted flush with the wall.
Mounted signs on standoff- are designed to be mounted with specialized hardware, which consists of a barrel, cap, and wall screw.

You want your display to stand out.
Having an eye-catching banner could be the first thing that will attract the audience. A tall or distinctive display should do the trick. Make sure you have a colorful logo or accent to help promote your brand and grab the potential consumer.
Before you have an effective display designed, you first need to think about what you want your company or business to show. What are you looking to achieve within your trade show? Are you looking for leads? Brand awareness? Are you having a new product launch? Each of these things can create a different type of display. At first glance you should be able to understand what the display is targeting.
Signs A La Carte is able to help you create anything you would need for your trade show. From banners to table runners we can create your dream trade show display. We are able to put your logo on practically whatever you need to create an effective trade show. Signs A La Carte wants the best for your company.
There is not always a lot of time to grab someone’s attention at a display or trade show. The amount of people attending may vary from large too small. But, it is important that you stand out regardless.
What Signs A La carte can do
A fabric pop-up display is one of the first things that can grab attention. Since they are so tall theses are perfect for a large convention when there are many other suppliers there. The fabric makes the color vibrant and easy to read.
Another way to grab attention by being in sync. All of these displays were made by Signs A La Carte. We are more than just your regular sign company. We can make table runners as well as regular pop up displays. We want to brand your company in the best way possible. Having matching display items can make your trade show look very professional and well put together.
Do you have an outdoor event you want to promote yourself at? Signs A La Carte is able to create pop-up tents to have over your display. These are a great way for visitors to be able to see your display from all over the designated area.

Monument Signs, Building Signs and Store Windows for retail stores in West Chester area.
As the owner of a retail store, you probably know you need signs, but you might not know where to begin. Signs A La Carte can help you decide. After you contact us, we’ll meet with you at your business to discuss your needs, goals, and preferences. We’ll also bring our book with images of previous jobs to give you some ideas.
Types of Exterior Retail Signage
To make your business visible to potential customers, we recommend putting your business name in various places outside of your business.
On the Monument Sign
The monument sign or pole at the entrance to the commercial area is a great place to show people they’ve come to the right location. Whether the panel face is large or small, we’ll update the signage for you.
On the Building
Do you want to take advantage of low-voltage LEDs inside your store sign? Channel letters are a great example, but you can also have an LED lighted box, where we can slide in an acrylic face with your business’s name.
The Signs A La Carte team can manufacture the shape, size, and outdoor material of your choice or install dimensional letters. Large outdoor building signs do more than direct people to your business—they project an image with your unique brand and represent your care and professionalism.
On Store Windows
We can apply various types of vinyl to fit your needs, including decals that are visible from the parking lot or colorful, perforated vinyl. The perforated vinyl allows visitors from inside your store to see outside, but the people on the outside aren’t able to see in.
Another way to professionally add important information to your storefront entrance or window is to apply vinyl lettering. Signs A La Carte customizes vinyl letter stickers (font, color, and size) with your business name, hours, and the types of products and services you offer.
The Signs A La Carte Guarantee
Sometimes you need to split your payments into separate installments. In this case, we can install what’s most important to you to promote your business. Generally we install the building signs, followed by the window signs.
Our team works hard every day to be known as the company that guarantees quality, well-manufactured products. We appreciate our customers for trusting us with their business. Meeting with them to present the many options they have is important to us.

Installing Channel Letters for the New Agway Storefront Sign, by Signs A La Carte- West Chester , PA-
Signs A La Carte provides and installs signs for a short and/or permanent period.
One day we received a message from a local business owner. His business was moving, and he needed a banner to say where the business was moving and one for the new shopping center and business location.
Signs A La Carte worked with Cory Mattia, owner of the West Chester Agway store, built in 1976 primarily as a farm and feed store. Agway recently moved from its Matlack Street location to the Commons of Thornbury near the Route 926/202 intersection. For his smallest facility, Mr. Mattia decided to focus on specific categories of products rather than being too diversified.
Agway was also renamed Agway Wild Birding Center. Mr. Mattia wanted customers to know the store was still open, but with a different name and location, so he decided to keep the brand and logo.
Installing channel letters on a building requires a permit from the township. Fortunately, everything went well with the permit, and Signs A La Carte created two large format banners: one for the pylon where the store was closing, and another where the store was opening.
We also added the business name to the monument sign at both entrances of the shopping center. In this shopping center, we replace the business name on the monument sign when a tenant leaves, using a plain green plaque until there’s a new tenant.
Raceway vs. Flush Mounted Signs
The difference between the two (raceway and flush) is the method of installation.
A raceway is a rectangular sign mounting structure that holds all wiring and electrical components for the letters. It generally requires three or four drill holes to mount this setup.
Flush mount setup requires between three and five holes in the facade for each letter. Our installers fish the wires through the holes before securing the individual elements.
Building owners usually prefer the raceway option because it does the least amount of damage to the facade.
A storefront sign can also be a lighted box, an unlit sign with dimensional letters, or a custom-made face with a business’s colors, design, and shape. Check out our website page to see a few examples of the storefront sign we’ve created.

How Frosted and Etched Vinyl Graphics Give Your Business More Privacy by Signs A La Carte - West Chester, PA-
Frosted or etched adhesive vinyl graphics keep privacy in conference rooms and executive offices or represent the corporate brand temperately, on sliding doors and glass partitions.
The terms frosted and etched glass come from the type of glass work that existed before vinyl. Etched and frosted glass are generic terms for decorative, translucent glass that obscures visibility and also diffuses light. The difference between the two is in their meaning.
Etching is the process of altering the surface of the glass to create a decorative effect. Frosting changes the surface of the glass from transparent to translucent to create an opaque, cloudy appearance. This is usually achieved by acid-etching, sometimes called ‘French embossing,’ one of the oldest decorative glass techniques. Thousands of years ago, craftsmen discovered that heating fluorite, a dark green mineral, produced hydrofluoric acid. When applied to glass, it eroded the top layer of glass and left a frosted look.
Nowadays to get the effect of frosted glass without using a dangerous chemical, we use vinyl, which is applied on glass. This product is a three-mil, high-quality PVC film with a soft and constant light transmission that prevents reflection. The clear and permanent adhesive is widely appropriate for use on plotter cutting systems. It can be used indoors and outdoors on windows and glass doors.
Frosted and etched vinyl graphics maintain the privacy of conference rooms and executive offices. They can also help display a corporate brand on sliding doors and glass partitions.
Case Study: A. Duie Pyle
For A. Duie Pyle, the Northeast’s premier transportation and logistics provider, etched glass vinyl created privacy in the company’s conference room. Employees using the conference room benefitted from the natural light the vinyl allowed to pass into the room, while still maintaining privacy from the public hallway. Signs A La Carte also cut A. Duie Pyle’s logo out of the vinyl to create a branded wall.
When we worked with International Ministries, also known as the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society, we used frosted vinyl to make the entrance door more decorative. The logo is trimmed like a step and repeat banner. With a strip of etched glass at eye-level, it’s an attractive and sophisticated addition to the business’s ambiance.
River Avenue Digital
Additionally, frosted or etched adhesive vinyl graphics maintain privacy from the outside. River Avenue Digital came to Signs A La Carte for this type of vinyl to create a layer of privacy between the office and passerbys on the street. It gives the office a high-class, professional look.
Kids Clubhouse of the Mainline
Etched and frosted vinyl is also incredibly useful when working with kids. Signs A La Carte installed frosted vinyl on the windows at Kids Clubhouse of the Mainline, a daycare on demand. During the day, sunlight can pass through the vinyl, but the kids and employees aren’t distracted by what’s happening outside.
Whether you need an upscale look for your storefront or interior windows or you want to incorporate frosted glass vinyl for a custom logo or signboard, Signs A La Carte will exceed your expectations by applying attractive and versatile material. Give us a call if you want to install privacy window film at your business!
A Vinyl Vehicle Wrap and Outdoor Signages for a State Farm Agent by Signs A La Carte -West Chester, PA-
Signs A La Carte applied Reflective vinyl on vehicle and renew some signs for State Farm.
Signs A La Carte recently worked on a fun project for Chris Madonna, a State Farm agent in West Chester, PA. After purchasing a Smart car, Chris wanted to get the car wrapped for his business. He knew a vinyl vehicle wrap is a cost-effective tool for generating brand awareness, sales, and business growth.
We proposed the idea of using reflective vinyl instead of regular vinyl. Though the price per square foot for 3M™ Scotchlite™ Removable Reflective Graphic Films was higher, the more vibrant, 24/7 exposure with reflective vinyl was a critical advantage. Reflective film provides better slideability, air release, and removability for easier, faster, bubble-free installations and removal. With heat removal, reflective vinyl leaves little or no adhesive residue.
Signs A La Carte gave Chris a mock-up of what his car would look like with a wrap, and he loved how it brought the graphic to life. To protect the vinyl, we applied a clear laminate to shield it from fading, scratches, and road debris.
Chris Madonna really loves the new design of his car. He is so happy that his business name is visible day and night.
When Chris dropped off his car, he discovered we can do anything with vinyl, like building signs, directory signs, any kinf of signs to promote your brand indoor and outdoor. In addition to the vehicle wrap, Chris also needed to update his business hours and change the post panel in front of his office. We removed the old signs and replaced them with new signs.
As you can see here, we replaced the vinyl on the business hours sign and updated it with Chris’s new hours.
To manufacture the post sign, we cut a medium density overlay (MDO) panel. This is a type of material produced with a high-quality, thermosetting resin-impregnated fiber surface bonded to one or both sides under heat and pressure. The sign’s shape has a half-oval at the top, which can hold one-third of the logo.
Signs A La Carte applied a red and white printed vinyl cover with a laminate and then installed it on the post.
Testimonial from Chris Madonna: Thanks guys, as always great work, and done quickly. Call them when you need a new or better look.
Not only can vinyl be used on cars, but it can also be used for signs and building graphics to give brands and promotions greater visibility. The material can easily be printed on a large, eco-friendly printer. Unlike paint, which requires greater patience to apply because of the level of detail, vinyl lasts longer and is easier to apply.
Chris Madonna is a great Signs A La Carte customer who educates his clients about all types of insurance, including auto insurance, motorcycle insurance, home insurance, renters insurance, life insurance, business insurance, and more. If you need help with your insurance needs, don’t hesitate to contact Chris at 610-353-7171.

Creating New Exterior Signs and a Lobby Sign for Brandywine Med Spa by Signs A La Carte -West Chester, PA-
Signs A La Carte installed exterior signs and lobby signs at Brandywine Med Spa in Kenneth Square.
One year ago, Dr. Tariq and Uzma Quraishi contacted Signs A La Carte for help rebranding signage for their new business facility. Dr. Uzma Quraishi has been providing general medical care and cosmetic treatments in the Kennett Square area since 2004. At Brandywine Med Spa, she offers the latest innovations in cosmetic medicine.
Our part of the project included creating new exterior signs and a lobby sign. First, Dr. Quraishi wanted to change out the pylon in front of the building. Signs A La Carte refurbished the sign that had belonged to a previous restaurant. We kept the octagonal shape of the sign, cutting two new acrylic faces and applying a translucid black cut vinyl with the doctor’s name, phone number, and business name. This type of vinyl allows light to go through.
Now for the story of the two freezer doors outside the building. Initially the couple discussed a landscape. Our designer sent them a few proofs, but they were still undecided. One day, our designer found some photos and arranged them in a new proof. The proof was approved, but then winter arrived. If temperatures are below freezing, it’s impossible to install vinyl outdoors. We had to wait for the weather to get warmer.
Finally, after a spring warm up, we were able to install the high-quality, laminated, large-format printing on the two freezer doors. The photos have a lasting impact on customers—when we talk about other businesses in the area, we mention these photos and automatically, people know where to go.
Dr. Tariq and Uzma Quraishi were great to work with! Despite the weather challenges, they were very understanding. As we know, the weather isn’t the only challenge we sometimes face when installing signs, and we were just lucky we had such patient clients. The finished Brandywine Med Spa sign is classy and chic.
If you want to rebrand your business and need a new interior or exterior sign, contact Signs A La Carte. We’d love to help!
