Manufacture of CUSTOM ENGRAVED SIGNThe manufacturing of the Office Court at Pennell Place unit plaques represented a challenge for us that encouraged precise action and deliberate planning at all stages of the project. We chose Komacel as our material due to its weather resistant properties, lightweight results, and machineable qualities. We began by painting full sheets of Komacel with Matthews paint on both sides of the sheets. The color used was to be that of the body of the sign - a color selected for its ability to aesthetically blend with the colors of the exterior walls and door frames of the building. The now-painted sheets were then masked using a special adhesive masking product selected for its ability to be machined cleanly. Now protected, the sheets were placed on our CNC Router, where the signs were cut - including the unit number engravings, holes, chamfers, and rounded edges.
After all is said and done, we are thrilled with the product we were able to fabricate for The Office Court at Pennell Place.
