Outdoor signs are crucial for your small business so passers-by are able to see who you are and what you have to offer. But you can not stop there. Indoors signs are almost just as important when it comes to showcasing your business.

Outdoor hanging sign

A rider sign is a great way to market your small business. A rider sign is an outdoor hanging sign that is put into the ground that allows many viewers to see it. This sign will draw attention from far away, just like how a “for sale” sign does. if you don't have the bracket, do not worry we can install it on the wall close to your door.

Indoor hanging sign

If you are looking for an indoor sign. We are able to accommodate you with an interior hanging sign. Having a light up sign will truly make your business pop and look modern.

Make sure you check with your township to avoid any issues or fill out any paperwork before inquiring about an outdoor sign.

A more affordable approach

Vinyl is a great way to save money when just starting out with your business. Vinyl on the wall is a gorgeous smooth look for your company or brand. It is more affordable than dimensional letters or acrylic/ aluminum sheet + vinyl or raised letters. At Signs A La Carte we look working with vinyl because it saves space within the building so you have more room for your own products.

Window signs

We can even put vinyl on your windows. Vinyl window decals are great because they can  be easily changed for any occasion including; the time of opening and closing or even the holiday. Window signs will make your small business look even better. Having window graphics can help the viewers indicate the mood your small business displays.

Signs A La Carte offers many different types of signage. Signs A La Carte has a variety of options to custom signs in an office.

Whether you have a small business, a medium-sized organization, or a big business, office signage is very useful. Office business signs have two primary purposes: They help your team to be more organized and efficient, and they guide visitors and new employees to your space.

At Signs A La Carte, we offer a variety of customized options.

Benefits of Indoor Office Signage

Workplace productivity increases with wall signs. These signs can be mounted on stand-off for a dimensional look, or they can be directly installed on the wall. The creativity of your design can enhance the decor and aesthetics of your office. Office business signs also help point everyone in the right direction without distracting others in the office.

Types of Business Signs
Some common types of indoor business signs include:

  • ADA compliant signs
  • Building signs
  • Conference room signs
  • Corridor signs
  • Door signs
  • Lobby signs
  • Waiting area signs
  • Wall signs

Signs A La Carte uses a variety of materials to create custom signs like the one below:.
Vinyl
Applied on the wall, vinyl is a material that can be easily applied to make your name, logo, and lettering stand out in any color, size, or font you want.

Wallpaper
An eco-friendly option, wallpaper covers the entire wall or part of a wall with the image of your choosing.

Window Graphics
Window graphics serve the same purpose as wall vinyl. But rather than having your graphics on the wall, they’re displayed on the windows.

Frosted or Etched Vinyl
This type of vinyl is applied on windows to make a room or office more private.
Picture
Plaques
In most offices, plaques are used to display the name of the receptionist or the company’s name in a professional style.

Directory Signs
Customized to match your office’s interior design, directory signs help customers navigate the offices in a large building.

ADA Signage
ADA signs are required by law. They help people with reduced vision navigate buildings and are commonly installed near elevators, bathrooms, and exits.
Picture
Dimensional Letters
If you want to make your message or brand stand out, dimensional letters are designed to attract attention. These visible and noticeable signs help notify visitors when they’ve reached the right destination.

Acrylic Signs
These signs have a sophisticated look for displaying eye-catching branding and logos. Acrylic signs are mounted with standoffs, and you can choose the color and the size. You can also mix different materials and create multiple layers by adding letters, frosted vinyl, printed vinyl, and more.

Aluminum Signs
Aluminum signs can be used in three ways: as the face of the sign, as a cut-out that allows light and color to pass through the letters and logo, or as letters and shapes that directly stud to the wall.
Ready to Create Custom Office Signage?

Signs A La Carte can customize the size, color, font, and shape of signage that reflects your business identity. If you like the examples above and are looking for something similar or completely different, give us a call and our teams are happy to help with your signage needs.

What You Need to Know About Post and Panel Signs

10/7/2019

Cedar wood, Plywood, Aluminum, HDU, MDO are used to fabricate Post and Panel Signs.

Looking for personalized outdoor signage that will increase your company’s visibility? Post and panel signs are an excellent choice! Signs A La Carte designs, manufactures, and installs high-quality signs for any type of business.

Styles of Post and Panel Signs

Post and panel signs are available in a variety of styles and configurations, as well as a variety of price points depending on your budget. They can be personalized with decorative caps and poles and custom-shaped panels. While the most common material used for the poles in our area is wood, you can also have poles made from PVC or aluminum.

If the customer doesn’t want paint on the post, we use cedar wood. It’s a natural moth repellent that’s also weather resistant. If the customer wants a post with a specific color, we’ll prime, sand, and paint the plywood.

Between the pole, we install a face that’s usually made with three millimeter or six millimeter MAX-metal. This substrate is durable and works well in all types of weather.

However, sometimes customers require higher-end materials for more permanent signs. In this case, we work on sandblasted wood that is more expensive, but will last for decades. Signs A La Carte can propose other substrates like high density urethane (HDU), plywood, and medium density overlay (MDO).
Types of Sign Materials and Substrates

HBU is insect- and rot-resistant. It’s also waterproof and unaffected by changing temperatures. Unlike cedar, HDU is readily available, stable, carves easily, and paints beautifully. It also looks just like wood when painted, only much lighter.

Plywood is made with thin layers of wood, interspersed with layers of special paper. Since it’s not weather resistant, plywood will eventually rot after years of exposure.

MDO is a cheaper solution. However, its lifespan is usually less than five years, and it deteriorates more quickly than other materials.
Other Custom Solutions

If you’re looking for a simple, yet decorative solution, or something a little fancier, we can carve the wood for long-term use. For temporary use, the most economic method is printing the graphics on high-performance vinyl and directly applying them on both sides of the substrate’s surface for maximum visibility. We can also create an appealing look by adding dimensional acrylic letters or logos to post and panel signs.

Sometimes when a customer wants to change their sign, we inspect it and find that the poles aren’t damaged—they just need a good coat of paint. Even when poles are made with high-quality material, factors like weather and pollution can still deteriorate the sign. A coat of paint can work wonders.
We Have Your Sign Needs Covered

Whether you’re looking for a residential entrance sign, a development directional sign, a business park tenant sign, a lobby or reception display, a church reader board, or golf course signage, Signs A La Carte can provide a solution that will exceed your expectations and leave a lasting impression.

Long-lasting and precise construction, directional and directory signs that meet the needs of any business

When a site is under construction, signage is important. It shows which company is working on the site or which business is under construction. When the building is complete, signs that direct people through the building are also imperative. And don’t forget about the builder’s vehicles—builders with their name and contact info on the side of their vehicles are more likely to get inquiries from people with similar projects.

Construction sites are an ideal setting for making your brand visible to the public. Using high-quality materials and color matching, Signs A La Carte can customize your sign project, brining your creative vision to life and getting your brand noticed.

We’ve already completed several projects for commercial builders and property managers. Take a look at a few of our examples below.
A Logo and Lettering for Hazley Builders

Thanks to the new graphics on their vehicles, Hazley Builders can grab attention with a unique design that represents their brand and includes their logo, company name, and website. Whether they’re on the road, on a sales call, or parked in front of your business, the company gets noticed.

Signs A La Carte offers various types of wraps for fleet management, including half-wrap or full-wrap vehicle graphics. Since we print all graphics on our digital printer, we provide the same color and high-resolution graphics every time you need a new vehicle decal.
Post Signs for Spire

Signs A La Carte manufactured two types of post signs for Spire. One is made with 6” x 6” x 10’ wood posts, and the hanging sign has a panel made of 96” by 16” MDO. The other is made with 4” by 4” x 5’ wood posts. Between the posts, the panel will be made of MDO. On all signs, we’ll flush their logo customized with a specific red acrylic.

Spire will install the posts on their construction sites so if someone is interested in their project, they’ll know Spire is doing the work.
Directional, Directory Signs, and ADA Signs for Drexelbrook Catering

Signs A La Carte designed and manufactured 3D signs with different layers of material for the interior building at Drexelbrook Catering. The base is a brushed aluminum material with a black acrylic face. On top of the frame, we added the cut-out logo in a whiite acrylic circle with UV printed graphics. We adhered a small brushed aluminum plate with black textured vinyl. Frames are mounted to the wall with standoffs made from brushed aluminum to match the identification signs. The building’s luxurious appearance makes visitors want to return to the space.
Like What You See?

Signs A La Carte is a full-service custom signage company that specializes in exceptional products made from high-quality materials. We offer long-lasting and precise construction signs, directional signs, and directory signs to meet your business needs.

Creating New Exterior Signs and a Lobby Sign for Brandywine Med Spa by Signs A La Carte -West Chester, PA-

8/26/2019

Signs A La Carte installed exterior signs and lobby signs at Brandywine Med Spa in Kenneth Square.

Picture
One year ago, Dr. Tariq and Uzma Quraishi contacted Signs A La Carte for help rebranding signage for their new business facility. Dr. Uzma Quraishi has been providing general medical care and cosmetic treatments in the Kennett Square area since 2004. At Brandywine Med Spa, she offers the latest innovations in cosmetic medicine.

Our part of the project included creating new exterior signs and a lobby sign. First, Dr. Quraishi wanted to change out the pylon in front of the building. Signs A La Carte refurbished the sign that had belonged to a previous restaurant. We kept the octagonal shape of the sign, cutting two new acrylic faces and applying a translucid black cut vinyl with the doctor’s name, phone number, and business name. This type of vinyl allows light to go through.

After back and forth moke-ups of the sign they would like to have on the storefront sign, we ended up by installing a signage made of 10" tall acrylic dimensional letters and a 10’’ logo both pigmented in bronze. The 16 letters and logo will be stud mounted on the wall.
Picture
Picture
Signs A La Carte also took care of the lobby sign that is the same as the building sign. After Dr. Quraishi’s approval, we installed a white and bronze logo and 16 acrylic dimensional letters pigmented in bronze. The 5” letters and the logo will be stud mounted on the wall with a spacer. On the entrance windows, we affixed the beautiful logo cut in a white vinyl.
Now for the story of the two freezer doors outside the building. Initially the couple discussed a landscape. Our designer sent them a few proofs, but they were still undecided. One day, our designer found some photos and arranged them in a new proof. The proof was approved, but then winter arrived. If temperatures are below freezing, it’s impossible to install vinyl outdoors. We had to wait for the weather to get warmer.
Finally, after a spring warm up, we were able to install the high-quality, laminated, large-format printing on the two freezer doors. The photos have a lasting impact on customers—when we talk about other businesses in the area, we mention these photos and automatically, people know where to go.

Dr. Tariq and Uzma Quraishi were great to work with! Despite the weather challenges, they were very understanding. As we know, the weather isn’t the only challenge we sometimes face when installing signs, and we were just lucky we had such patient clients. The finished Brandywine Med Spa sign is classy and chic.

Creating Elegant Building Signs for Drexelbrook Catering by Signs A La Carte- West Chester, PA-

3/4/2019

Signs A La Carte created more than 60 elegant building signs for Drexelbrook Catering using mostly brushed aluminum and black acrylic materials.

Drexelbrook Special Event Center hosts a variety of events, from boardrooms to ballrooms, corporate conferences to weddings, and everything in between. They assist clients with their catering, design, and planning needs so their event guests can enjoy themselves and have a great time.
The Challenge

CEO Domenick Savino, CPCE decided to renovate all signs inside the building to make them more elegant and modern. Signs A La Carte was invited to tour the building and see the signs that needed to be changed and updated. Existing signs were black or gold, and they felt outdated. After sending several proofs back and forth with the CEO, we designed, manufactured, and installed more than 60 signs in the event center.

The Solution

Drexelbrook wanted to use their existing logo and add it to all signs. Signs A La Carte created the sign template to be used throughout the facility from scratch using the teal and white logo. Most of the directory signs were 3D with reverse brushed aluminum material and a black acrylic face. On top of the frame, we added the cut-out logo made from a white circle acrylic with UV printed graphic.
Typically, with this type of mock up, we provide ADA signs, directional and directory signs, and name plaques for boardrooms. Directional and directory signs with one name have black applique letters on the first surface. Directional signs with many directions have black text vinyl on the first surface. Frames are mounted to the wall with standoffs, which are made from brushed aluminum to match the identification signs.

For Drexelbrook, we added Braille writing to most of the restroom signs. However, the flag mount bathroom signs are special—they’re made with white surface acrylic and UV printed black text graphic.

Picture

When we toured the building to find out exactly where the signs would be installed, we suggested a vinyl application for the elevator doors. We sent the CEO a proof of what this would look like, and he agreed with our recommendation. After seeing the beautiful elevator doors, the owner decided the fire extinguishers also needed a new look. Throughout the building, gold covers were transformed into a beautiful palette of teal, black, gray, and white.

The dimensional letters at the top of the conference room doors are made of black acrylic. Size is extremely important—the door needed to be easy to read from the opposite side of the corridor.

Finally, we made signs for the podiums. A max-metal rectangular sheet was covered by a printed vinyl. The graphic represents the teal and white oval logo and the name of the event center.

All embossed aluminum wall sculptures give the building an elegant style. Signs A La Carte enjoyed working with Drexelbrook and appreciated their trust as we updated the building signs.

Channel Letters or Dimensional Letters: What’s Best for Your Sign?

2/4/2019

Signs A La Carte ( West Chester-PA- sign company) will help you decide what storefront sign using 3-dimensional letters is best for your building.

As a business owner, you’ve probably asked yourself what type of sign is best for your storefront. Nowadays, three-dimensional letters are almost everywhere—they have greater visibility, a professional appearance, and excellent versatility and illumination. Channel letters and dimensional letters are the best options for three-dimensional letters.

Signs A La Carte, your West Chester, PA sign company, will help you decide what storefront sign is best for your building.

Channel Letters
Channel letters are one of the most commonly requested signs for clothing stores, restaurants, jewelry stores, offices, supermarkets, and even schools. These building signs can be customized to represent any logo, message, or idea. The decorative sign is made of polycarbonate and aluminum and customized to fit your requirements, including color, size, letters and numbers, fonts, and symbols. The appearance of the sign is unlike a traditional lightbox. Channel letters are a modern and chic way to promote your brand.

The most important detail of channel letter signs is the illumination. They’re generally face-lit or reverse halo styles. Face-lit channel letters project light onto the front of the letters, while reverse halo-style letters project light out the back of the letters at night and are mounted on a raceway. Lighted signs attract your potential customers’ attention as they pass by your business.

Fortunately, if one letter is damaged, it’s easy to replace. Signs A La Carte doesn’t have to replace the entire sign, which can be pricey.

Dimensional Letters
Unlike channel letters, dimensional letters are illuminated by an exterior source that can be added later if desired. These exterior signs can be made with a variety of materials such as acrylic, painted foam, acrylic-faced foam, formed plastic or metal letters (brushed or unbrushed). They’re installed directly into the building’s facade. Signs A La Carte will guide you through the process of creating an eye-catching sign for your business.

Another advantage of dimensional letters is their versatility. They can be used inside the building or incorporated into a monument sign or a post and panel sign.

What’s Best for My Business?
Want to attract attention to your sign at night? Channel letters are your best option. If your business doesn’t require light at night, dimensional letters would be a better choice. At Signs A La Carte, we can help you select and install your dream sign on the front of your building. Both signs are great for promoting your brand.

Still unsure which letters to choose? All photos on this page, taken from one of the last jobs we completed, show the difference between channel letters, dimensional letters and other jobs we can do.

If you’re a new business owner or want to update your existing exterior signage, we can work with you to create a sign that suits your needs. Call Signs A La Carte at 484-464-0111.

Got a Business? You Need a Storefront Sign.

Signs A La Carte designs and manufactures any Storefront Signs you need for your business.

Are you the owner of a new commercial property like a restaurant, a medical office, a retail location, a shopping center or a real estate agency?  Are you located near West Chester, PA?
If you answered yes, you need some outdoor signage.  But what kind of sign do you need?
We, at Signs A La Carte, have a variety of materials to help you find the perfect sign for your brand.
In this post, you will find some examples of storefront signs that you probably see everyday.  But which is right for you? Below you’ll see examples of signs that are either attached to the wall or perpendicular at the front facade like a rider sign.

Picture
The most exciting question you have to ask yourself is:  Do you want your sign illuminated?
The benefit of an illuminated sign is that at night, customers will still be able to notice you in the dark and it can help them to remember your location during the day. We work with an electrician to install your illuminated sign -- and you can choose whether you want to use LED or neon lights.

Picture
Another option for an illuminated sign is having us create an acrylic sign in a case. Inside that case we would add lights and the entire sign would glow in the dark like this company, Unique Hearing Aid Solutions, chose.

Picture
Maybe you prefer illuminated letters!  In this case, you need channel letters, which are generally made of acrylic faces that allow light to be projected through the letters in a multitude of colors. We do it all!

Picture

Not looking for an illuminated storefront sign? No problem. We also make PVC, wood, aluminum or stainless-steel panels.
To embellished them, we use different methods like printing, engraving, laser cutting, and painting. We also use colorful vinyl or can add material like raised metal, acrylic, backlit or plastic colorful letters. Signs A La Carte can customize your durable exterior signage with your unique specifications. We can even help with a colorful underlay or installing a spotlight underneath to keep your sign noticeable in the dark.

Picture
We also install letters directly on your storefront like Gus & Ruby Letterpress. The material we use are very durable and easy to install. The letters are cut and shaped into any font style you choose!
Here in West Chester, the most affordable storefront used is a called a “sign rider”.  A sign rider is usually a smaller sign that accompanies a larger sign or graphic (similar to what you see in a real estate frames). Sign riders are usually placed either below or above (or both) the larger graphic in the frame. Additionally they are used on posts and even hang from iron or wooden hangers. The sign is attached perpendicular to your business. We attach your vinyl to wood or an aluminite sheet, with the information you need
Did you know that your location is on a specific zoning map? That means that you’re not exactly able to do whatever you want. You have to follow the directives from your city or township. Illuminated signs require a permit, not just the preexisting sign rider. You can simply replace sign riders with new information if you keep it the same size. But to make it bigger or change any other specifications to your outdoor signage, you need to check with your city or town -- and definitely your landlord.
Signs A La Carte can produce any sign you can dream up! Just come with your ideas (and permits lol) and we will bring your dreams to life.
