Installing Custom Window Clings for Savvy Custom Gifts by Signs A La Carte - West Chester, PA-

Just before Christmas, Signs A La Carte went to Savvy Custom Gifts to install window clings on doors and white lettering in their showroom and on their corridor wall.

Katie wanted to have white lettering with her company’s logo on two walls. We used the Graphtec plotter to cut the design, weeded the extra material, and masked the signs to be installed. Her business also had several glass doors that needed to be updated with vinyl.  ​

Other Types of Window Decals

We can install many other window products, each with their own specifications. Here are some tips for deciding which product is right for your business. 

Clear and opaque decals are best used as a more permanent solution. They adhere to the window using an adhesive. Once placed on a window or door, the decal is removable, but not reusable. With their durability, decals can be used indoors or outdoors. ​

Perforated decals appear opaque from the outside but allow you to see through them from the inside. ​

Frosted decals are a mix between clear and opaque window decals. Etched vinyl is not completely clear or completely opaque, but it allows light and shadows to pass through, offering privacy and light. ​

Lettering is another way to make words stand out. The color you choose is very important. For stand-alone text, white letters provide the greatest contrast and best readability, whether the sign is going on the front or inside of your window. 

If you decide to use colors other than black and white, it’s important to make sure there’s enough contrast between the background color and the lettering so the text is readable from a distance. Lighter color letters work well with a darker background, while darker letters stand out well on a light background.
