We engineered and installed a back -it exterior sign Wilmington. When owning your own business there are many things that come into play. There are a lot of questions you have to ask yourself on a daily basis. One of those many questions being “what type of signage should I be using?” The answer to that can be considered in many different ways. Why should you use a channel letter for your business? Channel letter signs create a number of benefits to your business including attraction customers from a far.
What are channel letters? Channel letters are exterior signs that you put on the outside of your business. Usually these are 3D and spell out the company’s name. These can be lit up from multiple angles to give a clean and appealing look. These large signs will draw attention to potential customers. We received a request for a back lit exterior sign for their second facility in Wilmington by the general manager. Christian went to meet on site to discuss with him. After the discussion, we engineered the sign and we sent a proof with different sizes and materials after they agreed on one, we put the sign in production. After checking the wires to verify that each piece of the sign will light up, we can program the installation, that requires a scissor lift because the sign is 14 feet in the air attached to the brick wall. How channel letters are made In design, channel letters and cabinet signs are closely related. We use lightweight aluminum for the bodies of the lettering. Doing so has the advantage of not adding too much weight to your building’s façade. Typically, the fronts consist of polycarbonate that features your business’ chosen colors. From there, customization makes the channel letters relevant to your company. There are a few options to think about when creating and designing your future channel letters. The font, lighting and overall look are something you should consider. The first step is to select the font that best communicates your branding message. This font is usually the appearance you have chosen for your website, but it does not have to be identical if you prefer a different display. If you’re interested in creating a whole new look for your business we are able to help you choose the font that will work best for your building. The next step to consider is lighting. You have three different illumination options. Front-lit letters allow the light to escape through the polycarbonate fronts for an emphasized color presentation. Back-lit letters feature a closed front but let the light escape through the back, which results in a halo effect. A third option is a combination of the two. Unlit channel letters are another possibility. If you are unsure what lighting option will work best for you Signs A La Carte is able to assure you that we will help you every step of the way. Lastly, our installer can mount the letters directly to your façade. If access to the back of your wall is not possible, or if the building’s owner specifies a different installation method, we suggest the raceway mount. Either way Signs A La Carte will handle all your installation needs.
