Designing a Channel Letter Storefront Sign for ReminderMedia By Signs A La Carte -West Chester, PA-6/5/2019 Signs A La Carte manufactured and installed Channel Letters on a building for ReminderMedia. Channel Letters for ReminderMedia ReminderMedia, a sales and marketing company that creates custom publications for small business professionals, recently changed offices in King of Prussia. They asked Signs A La Carte to help design their signs, which included 35-foot channel letters on the building wall and an updated post sign at the entrance. Channel letter storefront signs are like cabinet signs. Each letter, logo, or shape is separate and forms part of the same sign. They’re built on a long-lasting aluminum frame to resist rust and prevent other weather-related damage. A piece of polycarbonate is cut at the exact shape to fit the aluminum frame. These types of signs allow for customization of size, font, color, and shape, and they can also be illuminated. The three-dimensional signs can be front-lit or back-lit, which creates a halo around the letters. The Process Signs A La Carte's team began with a site survey, determining where the signs would be installed and what was behind the wall. The sign installers needed to know what kind of drill and screws to bring so they could be prepared with the right materials to fit the project. Before we got started on the installation, we contacted the landlord and township to ensure we were following zoning regulations. A permit is often required on these types of projects. This prevents the business owner from having to remove the sign in the future because it violates regulations. Since we were mounting the sign on the second floor of the building, we needed a bucket truck. The sign was on a raceway—it required fewer holes in the facade that could damage the wall. After we completed the steps above, we designed the sign and sent the proof to the customer. Once it was approved, we manufactured each piece. Then it was time for the install. We carefully monitored the weather forecast—on a windy day, the installers have a more difficult time keeping their work space steady. During the installation, many ReminderMedia employees came outside to watch. A 35-foot panel sign installation isn’t something you get to see every day! Does Your Business Need a Storefront Sign?

I didn't know that a permit is often required! I'm getting a new sign for my business because the old one is outdated. I'll have to make sure I have a permit to change my sign!
