The Council on Brain Injury has been a nonprofit since 2007. We spoke with one of the founders of the organization. It started in memory of a business partner that lost his life to a brain tumor. We asked one of the founders why she chose to create CoBi, he said “I ran a local, for profit brain injury organization called ReMed and spent 32 years there, first as a therapist, then manager and my last 18 years as its CEO. I wanted to start a nonprofit to honor my business partner and to provide support to individuals with brain injury, their families and professionals in the field.” 

CoBi has various events throughout the year to support friends and families who are struggling with a loved one who has a brain tumor.  They’re main events are the Golf Tournament and the Award Luncheon, an educational conference for professionals every spring in Pittsburgh and then a variety of other educational programs and classes.
